Our Christmas Bazaar in November, with gifts created by Afghan and Iranian women, had a wonderful atmosphere with many supporters and friends visiting the ministry. It is an enormous encouragement to see how our Omorfies Skills Project has developed since its inception in July 2021. As well as selling products made in our classes to fundraise for supermarket vouchers, current and past students were invited to sell their own handmade products, keeping 100% of their sales. Two of our current students have already asked how to reinvest a portion of their profits into more resources, so they can continue to create and sell their designs. Our program helps women in several ways. Read Nadia’s* testimony, from Afghanistan (*name changed).
"Two months ago I was so depressed, and I went to the doctor all the time for medication. Since coming to Women's Day and the Skills Class I laugh again and I don't need antidepressants anymore. My husband says I am a new woman!"
